We Will Never Forget

Today is Remembrance Day and we will never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their country. Whether they fought in one of the world wars, the Korean War, a peacekeeping mission on behalf of the United Nations, or in Afghanistan most recently, we will remember them.

Their sacrifices will not be in vain for we will strive to protect the freedoms they fought to defend. We will honor their memories by watching out for one another and helping in the cause of freedom. We will remember them today and in the future. We will never forget them.

  • Happy Thanksgiving Canada

I would like to wish all of our Canadian readers and members a Happy Thanksgiving today. May you have a very happy day giving thanks for the past year and may the time we spend with loved ones and close friends bring much joy into our lives.

This year I have the following things to be thankful for:

    • I live on my own and can afford to pay my own bills and buy my own groceries.
    • I have a job I enjoy working at that pays me a great wage.
    • I live in a land where the voters determine who governs us and can vote to change the government if necessary.
    • I have the freedom to say what is on my mind most of the time.
    • I can go where I want to without having to report to anyone.
    • I have the freedom to worship how I want to or to choose to not worship.
    • I can associate with whoever I choose as long as it’s a legal reason.
    • The press is free to report on the news accurately.
    • I can write whatever I want to as long as it falls within the legal guidelines of the law.

All these reasons and much more makes me very happy to celebrate this Thanksgiving. Have a great day and a Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

  • We Must Never Forget

We must never forget what happened this day sixteen years ago. Our good friend and ally, the United States of America, was attacked by terrorists who hijacked planes and crashed them into important American landmarks – the Twin Towers in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. If it wasn’t for the brave passengers on board the fourth plane, the White House or Congress could have been hit as well.

This was the day that terrorists declared war on the United States and its allies, and we must not forget all the men and women who lost their lives this day. From passengers in the hijacked planes to rescuers and people in the buildings hit, over a thousand people lost their lives this day.

We must fight them in all areas. Not just with weapons of war, but also with words and ideas. They seek to impose their view of what is right in the world and extinguish the Western way of life. We must fight for the freedoms we cherish every day and protect all those who we care about. For if we do not stand against these terrorists, who will? For if we do not remember what happened this day in 2001, who will?

  • I’ve added a SSL certificate to this website

I went and added an SSL certificate to this site because I know it will boost the site’s rankings in Google and it’s important for our donations. It cost me US$10 for one year and will have to be renewed every year at least (with a discount per year if I renew for two or three years).

It also removes warnings on the login screen from password managers like LastPass and in the future browsers like Chrome and Firefox. I know this will help encourage users to check out our site more and hopefully register.

Google has mentioned that SSL will be a ranking factor in its search engine algorithm so it will help us there. Since our competitors use SSL, we had to follow in order to compete.

I’d next love to see this site get its own web hosting, but that is something I’ll need help with. Your donations would make that dream a reality as well as pay for any suggestions you may have (that we can’t add via a free WordPress plugin) in The Suggestions Box.

Enjoy your fan fiction reading and writing!

  • I’ve added Polls to the Forums

    Hey fan fiction lovers,

I’ve got some great news for you all! I’ve added Polls to the Forums here, so if you want your readers to vote on something for one of your stories, you can create a poll in a new topic and get feedback that way! 😉

Since I can’t set up polls in your writing profiles, this will have to do. I’m also hoping to integrate the writing and forum profiles here one day so that there is just one profile for each member instead of two. I’m not a programmer, so this is something that the donations will have to cover of course.

I’ve also added moderation tools for the staff in the forums to help enforce the few rules the site has. If you want to help moderate the forums, follow the rules and be a helpful member and if I like what I see, I’ll contact you to join the volunteers here.

Happy reading and writing of fan fiction folks and have a nice day!

  • Welcome to Unlimited Fan Fiction

Welcome to Unlimited Fan Fiction where there are few limits to what you can post. I hope that you enjoy the new site.

I would like to thank the people behind the WriteShare plugin for making this site a possibility. It would have been a lot harder to set up a fanfic site in WordPress otherwise.

If you want to submit your writings to the archive, register and then request writing privileges. I’ll try to activate you as soon as I can. 😉 Need a fandom? Suggest it in our Forums.

I believe that a fan fiction website should never have ads, so you’ll never see ads on this site. However, if you do want to support this site’s development and maintenance, I do accept donations via the Donate page. 😉
